Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team in our Tampa, Florida office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing geotechnical investigations, analyzing soil and rock properties, and providing essential engineering recommendations for a wide range of projects including airports, roadways, bridges, high-rises and other commercial developments. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions, overseeing laboratory analyses, and offering construction-phase support.
Responsibilities
- Oversee geotechnical investigations and laboratory analyses to assess the physical properties of soil and rock.
- Perform a variety of geotechnical analyses, including but not limited to:
- Slope stability analysis to evaluate the safety of slopes and embankments.
- Shallow and deep foundation analysis, including bearing capacity and settlement analysis for both conventional and specialized foundation designs.
- Soil-structure interaction modeling of foundation systems.
- Pavement analysis for road and runway infrastructure projects.
- Excavation and retaining wall design to assess soil pressures and stability.
- Manage geotechnical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all necessary quality standards.
- Provide technical recommendations to design and construction teams, offering solutions to complex geotechnical challenges.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 5–10 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with project management, geotechnical investigations, laboratory analyses, field investigations, design-phase analyses and recommendations, and construction-phase testing.
- A strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design principles.
