Organizational Development Consultant (Powering Cultural Futures) Description : TSNE is seeking five (5) Organizational Development (OD) consultants to provide general OD consulting and advising to 14 BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) led Massachusetts arts organizations who are a part of the Barr Foundation’s Powering Cultural Futures (PCF) initiative.Powering Cultural Futures (PCF) is a six-year initiative that celebrates and supports the arts in Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities across Massachusetts. The initiative aims to support its 14 grantee partners to : Build alignment between organization’s work, aspirations, and vision by leveraging existing strengths and making strategic investments in their own staffing, infrastructure, and programs over time.Contribute to the expansion of access to arts and cultural expression in BIPOC communities.Grow their networks of mutual support for BIPOC artists.Evolve and grow their BIPOC art forms and aesthetics.The initiative incorporates emergent strategy as a guiding framework, emphasizing adaptability, collective learning, and responsiveness to evolving needs.As we enter the second half of this initiative, we are deepening the organizational development support to be responsive to the needs of PCF grantee organizations. We are seeking five (5) organizational development consultants to add to our current team. We seek consultants who are strong OD generalists with expertise in at least one of the following areas : Human resources : the development of HR policies and the development of people & culture.Fund development and financial sustainability.Property Acquisition.Nonhierarchical / Collective Organizational Structures.Each consultant will be paired with 1-2 grantee organizations based on need, interest, and consultant capabilities to provide project-based consulting services and ongoing guidance directly to the grantee organizations. Each consulting engagement will be scoped collaboratively with the grantee organization to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.In addition to direct client work, there will be opportunities to support the cohort at large through training and the facilitation of peer learning spaces.This is primarily a remote position, with 2 in-person meetings in the Greater Boston area and a 2-day in-person convening (location TBD within Massachusetts). Travel and lodging will be paid for.Key Roles and Responsibilities of Consultants : Scope and co-design consulting engagements in partnership with grantee organizations to align with their unique goals, challenges, and timelines.Provide general consulting for OD capacity building needs tailored to each grantee organization’s context.Partner with grantee organizations to structure consulting engagements, including meeting cadence, milestones and deliverables, communication norms, etc.Offer coaching and leadership development in support of the resilience of organizational leaders.Provide ad-hoc advising to address emergent organizational challenges and opportunities.Work collaboratively with the consulting team to share learnings, support problem-solving, and respond to emergent needs from grantee organizations.Participate in 1 PCF initiative convening to facilitate initiative-wide cohesion, build community with grantee organizations, and contribute to programming as needed.Participate in 2 PCF strategy meetings by sharing key learnings from work with grantee organizations and contributing to reflection and co-design conversations.Participate in 2-3 training and orientation meetings.Participate in ~2x monthly planning meetings with OD consultants and TSNE staff.Provide written reflection, feedback, and evaluation of the consulting work.Participate in timely communication with all PCF stakeholders.Build strong relationships and mutual trust with organizations in the cohort, as well as Barr Foundation, TSNE, and other PCF consultants.Qualifications : Minimum of 5 years of experience in organizational development consulting.Lived experiences that are reflective of the BIPOC communities and leaders of the PCF grantee organizations.Advanced understanding of intersectionality and structural analyses of race, power, privilege, and systemic inequities.High level of cultural competence with proven ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships across diverse cultural contexts.Extensive experience supporting community-based organizations that are led by, serve, and are deeply rooted in BIPOC communities.Familiarity with and ability to apply emergent strategy principles, including adaptation, co-learning, distributed and decentralized power, and iterative process.Expertise in both traditional and liberatory organizational development (OD) consulting frameworks.Alignment with the initiative’s core principles, including partnership, co-learning, co-design, trust and transparency, continuous learning, iteration, flexibility, and adaptability.Ability to incorporate a trauma-informed and healing-centered approach into organizational development practices.Strong knowledge of and experience in OD strategies for small to mid-sized organizations at various stages of growth.Comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics and operations.Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills.Engagement Time : Anticipated timeline of engagement is 12 months beginning early March 2025 through March 2026.Estimated total hours 120 (Hours may be more or less, depending on usage of one-on-one consulting time by grantees, and variable from month to month).Minimum hours : 100.Maximum hours : 150.Compensation : $250 / hour paid through monthly invoicing.Application Process & Timeline : Written Application Due : February 20, 2025.Interview.Reference checks.Hiring.Hiring decisions will be made in accordance with the goals and values of the PCF initiative and will in part be determined by candidates’ alignment with the presenting needs of PCF grantee organizations.How to Apply : Access written application through this link : Application Link .Please note that this opportunity is for individual consultants who will be hired as independent contractors (via 1099).
