Position Summary

The Sr. Environmental Technician will coordinate, implement, execute, and maintain a proactive plant specific program to maintain environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene program as directed by the business, government requirements, and best practices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures the implementation of a detailed, task level, daily environmental program.
  • Air Emissions data for reporting to corporate, state, and federal agencies and participate in executing accurate and timely reports. Ensure compliance with all permits and other requirements.
  • and coordinates the environmental, monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting for the plant.
  • level management of Hazardous Waste for facility. Tracking totals, ordering pickups, and manifesting transportation of waste loads.

Work Execution and/or Documentation of the following activities:

  • Regular field inspections / audits of production plant for environmental compliance
  • Routine Environmental Monitoring and data entry into required systems
  • with Daily Safety Observations to trend safety, including random auditing of active work permits.
  • feedback to TSRC Management staff on issues/ trends identified that relate to environmental performance.
  • Participate in All Site and Corporate EHS initiatives in support of Continual EHS Performance Improvement
  • Develop an understanding of the units and processes in the area.
  • Interacts and works positively with the site Operations, Maintenance, and Contractor Organizations.
  • Develops effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Participate in safety meetings

Experience Requirement

3 years of Chemical Manufacturing experience required, or

5 years of Chemical Manufacturing experience required with HS diploma and related field certifications.

Strong knowledge of chemical process safety and environmental regulations is required.

Experience working with federal, state and local environmental regulations, including Industrial Air Permits, RCRA, and Water. Strength in Air permitting is preferred.

Experience with technical writing for procedures, work instructions, guides, and manuals.

Intermediate level skills at Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience with databases, statistical software and SAP preferred.

Education Requirement

  • of Science degree in related technical discipline is strongly preferred, or
  • diploma and related field certifications with 5 years of Chemical Manufacturing experience and EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, specifically in air regulatory compliance.

  • The position requires strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to sit in front of a computer.
  • This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to some outside elements, process, and warehouse environment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak, and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50’ in height. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection will be required in the field.
