Job Summary :
As a Foreperson, daily duties will include leading, organizing, planning and direct operations for projects and at a crew level, working within the vegetation management & tree trimming industry. Duties will be performed within the minimum approach distance of energized utility lines and critical infrastructure. This position is responsible for project management and personnel management.

Responsibilities and Requirements :
Organize, schedule and lead a crew to complete projects and tasksMust maintain certification and qualifications to work within the minimum approach distance of energized electrical linesDraft, compile, and complete required documents, spreadsheet, or formsMust be able to think critically, problem solve and make independent decisionsPerform risk and hazard assessment, apply risk mitigation procedures or techniquesPerform conflict resolution among supervised individuals and / or customersTrain, instruct and lead a crew in proper utility tree work and vegetation management methodsSafely operate tree trimming related equipment - saws, lifts, chippers, trucks, etc.Communicate with crew, management, vendors, and customersMaintain knowledge of the industry best practices and safety requirementsWork well within a team to complete projects and tasksMust be able to work outdoors, year-round in varying environmentsMust be able to work in, around and amongst poisonous plants and noxious vegetationOther tasks as requiredMinimum Qualifications :
Education : High School DiplomaExperience : 2-3 years of experience in Utility line clearance and Right-of-Way (ROW) vegetation management operationsISA Certified Arborist or ISA Certified Utility Arborist (ISA) or Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP)Valid Driver LicensePreferred Qualifications / Education :
Commercial Drives License : Class A or BQualified Applicator License (QAL)Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC)TRAQ CertificationBachelor of Science in Forestry, Biological Sciences or Physical SciencesKnowledge, Skills, Abilities :
Extensive experience and understanding of tree trimmingComprehensive understanding of tree trimming techniques and application to utility ROW work.Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead crews : layout daily plans, direct crews, manage jobs, manage schedulesAbility to operate equipment and vehicles related to vegetation management activitiesAbility to utilize Mac / Ipad / apple devicesKnowledge of MS Word, Excel, ArcGIS, Collector / Field MapsKnowledge of OSHA, ANSI and other applicable safety requirements related to tree trimmingKnowledge of OSHA, ANSI and other applicable safety requirements related to equipment operationsAbility to problems solveAbility to motivate self and othersAbility to think criticallyAbility to resolve conflictsAbility to regularly lift 50lbs or moreProbationary Period :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; high, precarious places and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Sites can be very hot and dusty.
