SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Integrated Operations Director, TN, the Plant Manager-TAC is responsible for the supervision of all phases of plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, purchasing and shipping/receiving. In addition, he/she is responsible for annual budget planning and execution.

The PM is responsible for implementing, training, enforcing and continuously improving manufacturing systems, procedures, documentation, reporting, and change management, to apply best practices, to implement cost reduction activities, monitoring progress, initiating clear strategies for the plant team. He/she will manage and direct the organization to achieve optimum results in term of profitability and effective use of the Plant’s human, technical and financial resources.

He/she is responsible to provide resources, tools, and support to help all program and production teams launch deliverables including timing, financials, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, environment, health and safety, human resources to actively participate in risk anticipation/mitigation and in problem solving activities with the Regional Organization, Global Functions Team, his/her Plant Team, Customers, Suppliers and Partners, to ensure efficient, targeted usage of financial and human resources in all industrial manufacturing activities.

Specific responsibilities and success factors of the position are as follows:

General duties

· Work with the Integrated Operations Director, Regional President and other senior management to drive growth in alignment with the vision and strategic plan for the company.

· Ensure the fulfillment of the Company Operating Philosophy aiming at the right balance between Shareholders, Customers, Employees.

· Define roles and responsibilities at the plant to achieve expected results in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service and comply to Corporate Policies and Federal/State rules and regulations.

· Establish and enhance profitable operation of the plant by meeting productivity and financial objectives, and meeting organizational goals related to safety, environment, energy, quality, timely product delivery, cost and shareholder value.

· Direct and manage plant operations for safety and environment, production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, shipping and receiving.

· Confer with other departments and disciplines to coordinate other operational activities including engineering, quality assurance, and HR/Sustainability within the plant.

· Strongly act and support organizational changes to implement a lean and learning structure.

· Establish and monitor goals for overall plant performance.

· Coordinate plant activities utilizing department managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Financials

· Direct accountability and responsibility for revenue; drive the revenue of the Plant to meet and exceed the plan.

· Support the Company by managing the financial affairs of the plant including budgeting, controls, reporting, financing, etc.

· Participate in the development of annual business plans that support the long-term strategic growth of the plant.

· Develop and execute plant budget.

· Partner with Finance to aggressively develop and monitor benchmarks and metrics, lead the search for improvements within the division using financial indicators, and manage the preparation of financial forecasts.

· Provide input in establishing fiscal business plan and monthly forecast.

· Guarantee the compliance with the Fiscal, Tax, Accounting rules (Corporate, Laws)

Operations

· Ensure that the Plant is performing efficiently from an operations perspective; Clients are being served, processes are under control and profit targets are met.

· Review established production schedules to ensure established inventory levels and shipping requirements are met while operating at maximum efficiency.

· Remove waste and constraints from production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.

· Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment. Replace, repair, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.

· Maintain and support a superior safety, environment and 5S program.

· Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.

· Partner with Level 3 to design and implement continuous improvement programs in the areas of cost/productivity, quality and service to ensure the accomplishment of annual and long-term business goals and objectives in the plant.

· Utilize lean/six sigma tools and talent management tools to develop and improve the skills of subordinate managers, technical associates, and plant personnel.

· Lead the management team in critical plant activities, including

· Materials planning, optimization of capacity, machine utilization, and throughput maximization;

· Capital equipment planning and budgeting; and,

· Inventory/materials management and production scheduling to support market and customer pull demand systems.

Quality

· Appoint and lead the representative(s) for the handling and improvement of the Quality Management System and for promoting awareness of the customer requirements

· Work closely with Quality team (Global Functions and Local Quality) to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.

People Management

· Manage and motivate the Plant Management Team and all the Plant’s employees and ensure each is held fully accountable to meet performance requirements; further develop leadership capabilities and enhance the overall human capital skills and knowledge base of all team members.

· Lead, motivate, and develop subordinate managers to meet both annual profitability goals as well as long-term growth objectives, and promote the highest level of teamwork and employee relations with and among manufacturing personnel.

· Actively participate and support the HR Process as well as Goal Deployment and Alignment Process, Organizational Capability Assessment, Development and Training Plans, evaluating and assessing the performance.

· Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching/counseling to direct reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Plant employees; in particular, he supervises Team Members (Plant Management Team).
