Construction Trades Instructor

Our client offers unique aspects of fabrication, civil, steel erection, piping, and mechanical installation services. They are searching for a full-time Construction Trades Instructor to help in employee training and education and administer apprenticeship programs.

Construction Trades Instructor Position Summary

The Construction Trades Instructor will coordinate, instruct, and manage both classroom and field activities to teach the OSHA 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health Outreach Training Program. The ideal candidate will come with custom materials they have developed over time(nice to have). As a subject matter expert in the safety curriculum, you will also serve as a Construction Trades instructor at our Little Rock campus, serving under the Training and Development office to provide training and education on other candidate qualified subject matter.

Construction Trades Instructor Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and conduct safety education sessions in English for all levels of construction personnel.
  • Partner with Training and Development leadership and project-based leadership to schedule classroom instruction, online assessments, and field evaluations.
  • Ensure education materials are available for all sessions.
  • Adapt training content to suit various roles and skill levels within the construction workforce, ensuring information is practical, accessible, and understandable.
  • Ensure training records are maintained in the Learning Management System.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Construction Trades Instructor Qualifications

  • Advanced communication, presentation and classroom training facilitation skills.
  • 5 years’ experience training adults in construction trades.
  • Licensed, journeymen, or technician-level knowledge and hands on experience in construction trades such as survey or field engineering, mobile equipment operation, millwright or mechanical work, rigging, ironwork, or welding (at least four years).
  • Current certification from OSHA Training Institute Education Center to teach OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 for Construction Industry personnel (OSHA 510 and 500).
  • Current certification from American Red Cross in the First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor-BL-r.21 course to teach First Aid / CPR and AED.
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
  • Must be able to pass drug (urine and hair) and alcohol tests.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
  • Construction Trades Instructor Physical Demands

    Office environment with frequent travel (up to 75%) required. Some overtime, weekend work, and overnight travel. All the physical demands listed are essential functions.

    If you do not possess some of the requested certifications, client is willing to put you through the proper steps to obtain.

    This is a Full-Time, W-2 Position for TTA's client that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance with 401k benefits, PTO, and other benefits.
