Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Internal Communications Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting all intranet posting and managing employee engagement activities, including planning and coordination of internal events. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and communication skills, a passion for fostering a positive company culture, and experience in creating engaging content for employees. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging communication within the organization.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Intranet Management:
- Manage the company intranet by ensuring it is regularly updated with relevant content, including company news, announcements, and internal resources.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather, write, and post content that is informative and engaging for employees.
- Monitor and maintain the intranet’s functionality, ensuring easy navigation and accessibility for all employees.
- Track intranet usage and feedback to continuously improve content and user experience.
Employee Engagement:
- Develop and execute communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and strengthen internal relationships.
- Create and distribute internal communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and internal campaigns, to inform and inspire employees.
- Collaborate with leadership to align messaging with organizational goals and values.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and execute internal events such employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and social gatherings.
- Coordinate logistics, communications, and resources for internal events, ensuring smooth execution and high employee participation.
- Promote events through various channels, including intranet, email, and social media, to generate excitement and engagement.
- Collect feedback post-event to evaluate effectiveness and make improvements for future events.
Content Creation & Editing:
- Write compelling and clear content for internal communications, ensuring it aligns with the company’s tone, values, and objectives.
- Edit and proofread internal communication materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand messaging.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with to ensure consistent messaging across all internal communications platforms.
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure the flow of relevant information across the organization.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Track and report on the effectiveness of internal communications and engagement efforts through surveys, metrics, and employee feedback.
- Use analytics to continuously improve content, messaging, and engagement strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations
Certificates/Licenses
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Experience
2-3 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications.
Additional Requirements
Job Knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
• Proven experience in managing intranet platforms, content creation, and employee engagement activities.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience in planning and coordinating events, both virtual and in-person.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with intranet software (SharePoint, etc.).
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Interpersonal Skills
• Experience with content management systems and employee engagement tools.
• Knowledge of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) to enhance visual communication materials.
• Previous experience in a corporate or large organizational setting.
Working Conditions
• Full-time position based in the company’s headquarters or a hybrid role. (Potential candidates must live in the Tulsa metro area).
• Occasional evening or weekend work required for event planning or special initiatives.
