Pay Range: $173,331.15 – $225,330.50 per year (depending on experience)

Job Description:
An advanced oncology institute is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist – Proton to support its proton therapy program. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Medical Physics and senior physicists to ensure the safe, accurate, and effective planning and administration of proton radiation therapy treatments.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a cutting-edge cancer center that prioritizes patient safety, innovative treatments, and continuous quality improvement. Your role will include direct involvement in equipment calibration, dosimetry, quality assurance, and radiation safety protocols—all designed to support the delivery of world-class cancer care.

Responsibilities:

• Optimize, evaluate, and verify radiation therapy plans with a focus on proton therapy.
• Provide physics coverage for treatment planning, quality assurance, radiation safety, and dosimetry.
• Maintain treatment delivery systems and ensure regulatory compliance with all physics-related standards.
• Support and implement safety programs aligned with OSHA, HIPAA, and professional codes of ethics.
• Collaborate across departments to support clinical operations and technology upgrades.
• Mentor junior physics staff and support ongoing educational efforts within the department.

Requirements:
Education:

• Master’s degree in Medical Physics or closely related field (required).
• PhD preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License.
• Certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Radiology or Board of Medical Physics (certification required within three years if not already obtained).

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years in clinical medical radiation physics.
• Preference given to candidates with 1 years of experience specifically in proton therapy.

Skills:

• Strong technical proficiency in proton therapy systems and planning tools.
• Expertise in instrumentation calibration, QA procedures, and safety protocols.
• Effective communicator with collaborative problem-solving abilities.
