Responsibilities:
- Optimize, evaluate, and verify radiation therapy plans with a focus on proton therapy.
- Provide physics coverage for treatment planning, quality assurance, radiation safety, and dosimetry.
- Maintain treatment delivery systems and ensure regulatory compliance with all physics-related standards.
- Support and implement safety programs aligned with OSHA, HIPAA, and professional codes of ethics.
- Collaborate across departments to support clinical operations and technology upgrades.
- Mentor junior physics staff and support ongoing educational efforts within the department.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics or closely related field (required).
- PhD preferred.
- Current Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License.
- Certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Radiology or Board of Medical Physics (certification required within three years if not already obtained).
- Minimum 3 years in clinical medical radiation physics.
- Preference given to candidates with 1 years of experience specifically in proton therapy.
- Strong technical proficiency in proton therapy systems and planning tools.
- Expertise in instrumentation calibration, QA procedures, and safety protocols.
- Effective communicator with collaborative problem-solving abilities.
