Pharmacy Data Entry Technician
Location: Boca Raton, FL 33487
Type: In-Office
Schedule - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holiday, and overtime:
- 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (1 opening)
- 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (2 openings)
Contract Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: $23-$25 per hour plus $1 extra for the 2:30pm-11pm shifts
Job Description:
The Pharmacy Data Entry Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently entering prescription information into the pharmacy operating system. This role requires prior experience in Long Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Data Entry, as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy system, ensuring error-free processing.
- Verify prescription details, including dosage calculations and cycle fill coding.
- Manage and triage incoming faxed prescriptions for timely processing.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers regarding prescription inquiries.
- Ensure timely completion of all assigned prescriptions during the shift.
- Process and follow up on prescription refill requests with healthcare providers.
- Utilize pharmacy systems, including document imaging and legacy pharmacy software.
- Assist with other pharmacy-related tasks as needed, such as filing completed orders, inventory management, and medication packaging.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Long Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Data Entry required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (as required by state regulations).
- Certification: Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification (PTCB) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy operations systems.
- Other Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and remain focused for extended periods.
- Frequent interaction with customers, healthcare providers, and pharmacy team members.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet strict deadlines.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting may be required.
