This role will assist with all logistics operations related to shipping, delivery, and collection of general cargo, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and timely. The position will involve working closely with the logistics team to verify shipments, coordinate with customers, and support operations with day-to-day logistics needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee shipping and delivery processes, ensuring cargo is delivered in a timely manner as requested by customers.
- Verify documentation to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies related to supplies and invoices.
- Communicate with customers regarding any shipment issues (damages, discrepancies) and ensure resolutions.
- Coordinate with airlines to confirm space for bookings and cancel unnecessary bookings to avoid charges.
- Prepare daily shipment documentation including invoices, manifests, and other necessary paperwork.
- Input inbound and outbound shipment data into the SAP system for tracking and cost management.
- Follow up on dispatched shipments to ensure they arrive at their destination as planned.
- Handle returns and disposal of items when needed, and ensure all shipment information is updated in SAP and shared drives.
- Assist with physical tasks such as loading and unloading shipments and vehicles when needed.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, operations, or customer service.
- Experience with shipping and logistics management, particularly in export/import operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with SAP systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in an office setting with long periods of walking and standing.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of boxes or materials.
- Must be able to work outside standard hours occasionally, as needed for urgent shipments or client requests.
