Locations: Kerrville, TX, and Loxahatchee, FL
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Variable Schedule M-F: 8:00am-5:00pm, Might include occasional Weekends and Holidays
Contract Type: Permanent

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced healthcare team. This role involves providing compassionate patient care, performing clinical tasks, and supporting the overall efficiency of the medical team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be a key contributor in delivering exceptional patient experiences while adhering to clinical and safety standards.
You’ll thrive in this role if you are organized, detail-oriented, and focused on making a difference in patients’ lives every day.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, administering non-intravenous medications, and assisting with wound care (e.g., changing dressings and removing staples).
  • Collect specimens through non-invasive techniques, venipuncture, or capillary methods, and conduct EKGs.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform quality control checks (interpretation of results not required).
  • Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and maintain a sterile working environment.
  • Assist providers with patient care, scribing, and case management tasks as needed.
  • Support clinic operations by organizing exam rooms, managing inventory, and ensuring adequate supply levels.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Enforce infection prevention protocols and comply with standard delegation orders.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, supporting patients with empathy and professionalism.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited institution OR 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient interaction.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in electronic health records systems.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated expertise in venipuncture techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and clinic safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in AED and CPR.
  • 5 years of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods and operate medical equipment.
  • Occasionally exposed to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and meet immunization requirements.
