Purpose of the Position

Responsibilities
- Guide and direct project activities while adhering to OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently following all relevant regulations.
- Execute project plans as directed by management and engineering teams.
- Read and interpret engineered plans and field layouts; set up GPS base stations and GPS-guided equipment.
- Conduct daily Job Safety Analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and required safety training.
- Communicate production challenges and implement strategies to overcome constraints.
- Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and security of heavy equipment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, including fuel, load count, and equipment hours.
- Conduct daily workplace examinations, addressing and repairing deficiencies.
- Keep job sites clean, prepared for weather, and compliant with erosion control standards.
- Maintain inventory levels and tool organization in maintenance trailers/trucks.
- Ensure professional appearance and proper care of company vehicles.
- Lead and guide crews in daily tasks to meet productivity and safety goals.
- Equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Site preparation, storm drainage, water, and sewer line installation techniques.
- General road construction, surveying, and layout practices.
- OSHA/MSHA and other workplace safety standards.
- Expertise in operating various heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, compactors, etc.).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities in English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in surveying and utility line layouts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Honest, respectful, and trustworthy.
- Flexible and adaptable with a strong work ethic.
- Culturally aware and sensitive, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than three moving violations in three years.
- Ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings.
- Capacity to lift at least 40 lbs. regularly.
