Scope:
The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining new improved manufacturing systems, processes, methods, equipment, strategies, technologies, and facilities in order to produce products within a reasonable schedule and budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates manufacturing equipment and recommends areas of improvement and automation.
- Works with department Supervisors as well as Manufacturing Management to develop and implement comprehensive continuous Improvement plans for areas within the production facility.
- Evaluates alternative approaches to manufacturing if a product, as designed, cannot be manufactured.
- Write project plans for implementation of new processes, existing process modification and capacity improvements and throughput enhancements.
- Ensures cost-effective design, installation, and method of transfer, monitoring and modifying of manufacturing processes.
- Performs cost/benefit analysis on new and existing manufacturing process improvement opportunities.
- Develops experiments to diagnose and correct manufacturing problems utilizing statistically valid methodologies.
- Performs defect characterization examination to construct root cause effect when problems occur

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Highly technical communications capabilities, including presentation skills are necessary to successfully exchange with suppliers, customers, and internal functions
- Knowledge of the entire PCB manufacturing process, including the manufacturing process flow, and production process steps
- Knowledge of tooling and artwork generation
- Basic drawing / blueprint interpretation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to resolve issues with problem solving, decision-making processes and attention to detail.
- Follow procedures with general supervisory instructions
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds without straining
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel, and a working knowledge PowerPoint, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project.
Required Experience:
- 0-3 years relevant experience
- Must have a general knowledge of methods used to training people in the operation and theory of the processes they operate

Export Statements:
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
