Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Survey Field Crewperson to join our team. As a Field Crewperson, you will play a vital role in supporting various projects and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This position requires a blend of technical skills and hands-on experience, making it ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.
Duties
- Assist in the execution of project tasks using tools such as hand tools and 3D scanners.
- Collaborate with team members to collect data and draft project documentation.
- Utilize software programs including Carlson, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D to support project development.
- Perform algebraic calculations as needed to assist in project measurements and analysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to data collection and drafting.
- Work with the team to produce development applications/plats, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, field control networks, and as-built surveys.
- Ensure projects are completed within precision requirements and on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards utilizing state of the art surveying equipment.
- Coordinate and take instruction, task assignment and mentorship from senior Surveying staff. Develop a working relationship with peers, engineering personnel and office staff.
- Be familiar with field crews’ workflows and the use of the latest surveying equipment and techniques. Ensure high accuracy and quality control procedures are followed consistently.
- Work with Survey and Engineering staff to ensure Project field requirements/tasks are completely understood and fully accomplished.
Experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or similar software is preferred.
- A background in data collection or civil engineering principles is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply algebraic concepts effectively.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Colorado PLS or LSI are not required but encouraged to acquire
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in various outdoor environments.
