What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scenic Changeover Crew position at Tuacahn Center For The Arts?
Position Summary
The Changeover Crew is an integral part of the production team responsible for removing scenic elements from our stage and replacing them with separate scenic elements, which allows us to rotate through shows on a nightly basis. Working outdoors, the crew's tasks include moving scenery safely in a well-coordinated and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Moving large scenic elements on a daily basis
- Operate heavy machinery including telehandlers, forklifts, and boom lifts
- Assist with the on-going inspection of each scenic element to identify and perform needed repairs
- Rig, adhere, and piece together theatrical set pieces to and on the deck
- Maintain and keep spaces clean daily
- Maintain the integrity of the Scenic Design
- Maintain flexible schedule for work calls especially during tech weeks
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and maintain a safe work environment
- Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of/and experience in a variety of scenic construction techniques
- Ability to collaborate with the scenic team to efficiently complete assigned projects
- Ability to maintain a professional work environment that reports to a Supervisor
- Ability to work outside in a desert climate overnight
- Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete assigned tasks
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Working knowledge of standard scene shop tools and welding preferred

$21.50-25.00/hr depending on position |

Other details: |
Limited housing is available at $50 per week. This position is represented by IATSE Chapter 720, but you do not have to be an IATSE member to apply. |
