Position Title:	Stitcher
Costume Department:	Costume Shop

Position Summary:

Being a part of the Costume Shop means working under the Costume Shop Supervisor to bring the Costume Design to life on stage in the middle of the gorgeous red rocks of Padre Canyon.

Our stitchers are responsible for completing all the costume alterations they are assigned so that all costumes have the fit and function desired.

Required Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of/and experience in a variety of costume construction techniques including tailoring, period construction techniques, and alterations
Demonstrated proficiency in sewing skills, from machine to hand sewing techniques
Demonstrated knowledge in theatrical construction and quick rigging techniques
Proficient with shop equipment including industrial and domestic sewing machines, multi needle (sergers and coverlocks), steam irons, and cutting tools
Ability to collaborate with the costume team to efficiently complete assigned projects
Ability to lift 20 lbs
Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times

Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the assigned tasks

Clean and maintain all spaces daily
Ability to work outside in a desert climate (though our build facilities are located indoors)

Required Qualifications:

Stitcher lvl 1: 1 years of graduating OR 2 years of professional experience with no degree
Stitcher lvl 2: 4 years after graduating OR 5 years professional experience with no degree
Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment

Bonus Qualifications:

Position Contract Dates:

03/24/25 - 7/18/2025 and 03/24/25 - 05/30/25

Pay:

$20.50 - $21.00 / hour, based on experience

2025 Shows Include:

The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Newsies

Other details:

Limited housing available at $50 /week
