What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wardrobe Maintenance Technician position at Tuacahn Center For The Arts?
Position Summary:
Being a part of the Maintenance Crew means working under the Costume Maintenance Lead and being a part of making every piece of the costumes look their best, keeping the world of the play alive on stage in the middle of the gorgeous red rocks of Padre Canyon.
As a member of the Costume Maintenance Crew you'll be collaborating with the rest of the Costume Maintenance team to keep all the costume elements maintained. Your responsibilities will include basic inspection and cleaning of garments, shoes, and craft pieces.
Required Skills:
Google Suite (primarily Google sheets)
Laundry skills
Steaming/pressing of garments
Shoe wear/tear inspecting
Garment wear/tear inspecting
Basic repair skills for garments, shoes, and craft pieces
Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times
Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the assigned tasks
Clean and maintain all spaces daily
Ability to work outside in a desert climate
Required Qualifications:
Ability to lift 30 lbs
Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment
Adhere to all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).
Bonus Qualifications:
2 years of professional Costume experience
Position Contract Dates:
05/27/25 - 10/25/25
Pay:
$20.50/hr

Other details:
Limited housing is available at $50 per week.
This position is represented by IATSE Chapter 720, but you do not have to be an IATSE member to apply.
