Position Title: Wigs, Hair, and Makeup Maintenance Crew
Department: Wig and Costume Shop
Position Summary
The Hair and Makeup Maintenance Crew will ensure the consistency of the original designs of
productions through cleaning and restyling wig and hair accessories. Reports to Wardrobe
Maintenance Lead. They may also assist with daily presets and collaborate with the evening run
crew to address notes.
Essential Functions
● Clean, sanitize, and block wigs daily
● Assemble and style wigs while preserving the original design
● Responsible for workstation, shop, and storage cleanliness and organization
● Maintain all paperwork assigned by the Wig/Makeup Supervisor and Wardrobe
Maintenance Lead
● Adhere to/enforce all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association,
including Covid-19 additions
● Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and
maintain a safe work environment
● Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any
additional duties and responsibilities assigned
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
● Demonstrate knowledge of specialty hair styling
● Ability to maintain a professional work environment
● Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete the assigned
tasks
● Eager to learn and develop skills
● Ability to lift 20 lbs
Preferred: at least 2 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as a
wig/makeup crew member or equivalent educational experience.
Housing may be available
Salary/Rate: $20.50/hr
