Custodian II - Evening/Swing
The Tualatin Hills Nature Center is seeking a part-time Evening/Swing Shift Custodian II to help keep our beautiful facilities safe and welcoming for our community, as well as provide custodial support for our high-quality nature programs, rentals, and special events.
The Evening Custodian II is often a great fit for students, caretakers, retirees, or candidates with other part time employment. This position travels between three or more locations during the work shift; a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation are necessary to perform essential job functions. Drive time is considered work time, and mileage is reimbursed at the Federal rate.
A strong candidate will exhibit flexibility, self-sufficient work ethic, independent judgment, effective prioritization of work, professional and courteous behavior, and proactive communication.
Scheduling:
- This position typically works Monday through Friday for approximately 25-29 hours per week, year-round.
- Shift is scheduled in the afternoons and evenings no earlier than 3:00 pm and no later than 11:30 pm, and may be adjusted to meet seasonal or specific operating needs.
- Some daytime or weekend fill-in shifts may be offered based on programming needs and employee availability; all shift changes are communicated to and accepted by the employee a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
Part-time benefits (PTB) eligible employees work an average of 20 hours per week but, less than 30 hours, on a year-round basis and are eligible to enroll in a benefits package. To learn more about the part-time classifications THPRD offers, see Part-Time Classifications.

- Daily cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, meeting rooms, restrooms, equipment, and program supplies to maintain the health and safety of all participants and staff.
- Use of basic custodial techniques including: dusting, mopping, vacuuming, pressure washing, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc.
- Arranging and/or delivery and set up of classroom, rental, and meeting room furniture including equipment, supplies, tables, and chairs.
- Working independently at various facilities or locations, and planning, conducting, and performing the full range of custodial duties with minimal supervision.
- Traveling between multiple worksites during a shift, conducting service calls at district parks and facilities, and transporting district inventory and/or equipment.
- Maintaining a helpful, professional, and friendly attitude toward facility users and staff.

- Valid Oregon Driver License and must be 18 years of age or older.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that would likely provide the applicant with the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
- The Evening Custodian II requires no minimum education and any related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
