Nature & Trails Technician

If so, we invite you to apply for the Nature & Trails Technician position at the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) in Beaverton, Oregon. As a Nature & Trails Technician, you will play a vital role in the restoration of natural areas, performing trail maintenance using your knowledge of natural resources, and engaging with the public to provide information on the Park District and ecological concerns.
Scheduling & Position Details:
We are currently seeking candidates for seasonal positions.
- Seasonal employees will be scheduled for 40 hours per week, with a maximum duration of 6 consecutive months.
- Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:15 pm.
- This role entails outdoor work in a variety of environmental conditions for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:
- Performing a range of tasks to maintain parks and facilities.
- Assisting the Nature & Trails team in restoring natural areas, including trail and natural area upkeep.
- Delivering exceptional customer service by engaging with the public and sharing information about the Park District.
- Operating various equipment, including mowers, trucks, trailers, trimmers, blowers, pole saws, pruners, and hand tools.
Successful Candidates Will Possess:
- Proficiency in the safe operation of park maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of natural resources and their application in natural area stewardship.
- Ability to independently make informed decisions related to natural resource management.
- A commitment to excellent customer service, fostering positive interactions with both customers and colleagues through professional and courteous behavior.
Licenses, Certifications, and Requirements:
- A valid driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
