Tuba Group is seeking Staff Auditors/Accountants; with at least 2 years of audit experience.

Primary Responsibility
Applies judgment, knowledge and expertise in the performance of assigned projects. Participates with staff and the client on a regular and continuous basis supporting the completion of specific projects within estimated time frames and budget requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Performs various accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the director and senior manager or senior consultant.
- Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards.
- Meets time constraints and client deadlines.
- Participates in planning client engagements.
- Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters.
- Prepares other reports, projects, and duties as may be assigned.
- Knows and understands the reason behind the firm’s policies and procedures.
If assigned primarily to financial statement engagements
- Begins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations.
- Obtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques.
- Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client.
If assigned primarily to tax engagements
- Begins developing a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
- Becomes proficient at tax research including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- At least two years of auditing and accounting experience. Transit industry experience preferred but not required.
- Skilled in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Possesses excellent oral and written skills and the ability to provide direction in client engagements and financial and management projects.
- Experienced in public accounting, and or equivalent experience in the private sector, demonstrating a progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed.
- Annual Continuing Professional Education is based on the state requirements.
- Knowledgeable of Government standards, regulations, and requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200 and the application to government organizations, programs, activities, and functions preferred but not required
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Advanced degree in related field desirable
