Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering support and leadership for all departments in an aerospace manufacturing environment to ensure all customer expectations are met for quality, delivery, and customer support. This individual will apply standard engineering principles, thoughtful consideration of all customer and regulatory requirements, and best practices to all tasks. The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on the key areas of tube bending, CNC machining, welding, acceptance testing, assembly, documentation, and quality management system. Responsibilities and Duties of the Manufacturing Engineer
· Effectively interact and communicate with all associates and embrace the mission of Tube Bending Technology, LLC
· Work with limited supervision while meeting goals and objectives in a timely manner.
· Arrive to work, scheduled meetings and appointments, and other work-related functions on time and prepared.
· Provide management and technical leadership for assigned projects ensuring schedule fidelity and successful completion (projects will be both customer and process focused).
· Design production tooling, fixtures, and machines.
· Resolution of technical issues associated with production line, purchasing and planning stoppages.
· Interpret specifications and customer requirements for quoting, planning, purchasing and production.
· Root-cause corrective actions (customer and internally initiated).
· First Article inspections (AS9102).
· Non-routine in-process and receiving inspections (level II).
· Non-routine job planning.
· Create manufacturing documentation including 2D drawings, 3D models, and written instructions.
· Direct customer interface to quickly resolve quality and technical issues keeping projects on schedule.
· Provide effective training to associates as required
· Actively participate, document, and/or lead continuous improvement activities.
· Maintain a professional relationship with all customers and suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills of the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field and/or 1-3 years of experience in a similar technical discipline. (Preferred)
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience designing production tooling and fixtures.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with our CAD system- SolidWorks preferred.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in AWS D17.1 preferred.
· Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an environment with AS9100 or ISO 9001.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection and standard manual measurement equipment.
· Knowledge of GD&T.
· Proven ability to solve complex technical problems in a collaborative environment.
· Proven ability to successfully drive projects to completion - including production planning, work instructions, process development and process qualification.
· Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
· Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks with limited supervision.
WORKING HOURS
· Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Fridays required on an as needed basis.
