Tubman is seeking a full-time Youth Community Advocacy Manager to provide relevant program management to advance violence prevention education and comprehensive services in partnership with youth and families about healthy relationships and leadership through service delivery in schools, homes, and other community-based settings, including afterschool programs. Ensure streamlined and effective service delivery in partnership with schools, teams, youth, families, and other agencies, including law enforcement, to prevent violence and to provide comprehensive service access for youth

and families impacted by violence.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Housing & Youth Development and may supervise volunteers and interns.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervision, onboarding, training, support, oversight, and performance management of Youth Educators and Inspiring Youth program Youth and Family Workers.
  • Provide oversight of school-based violence prevention, youth leadership, and in-home / community-based youth and family program options.
  • Deliver services and resources to assist youth and families who have experienced domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, and / or exploitation.
  • Promote the well-being of youth and families by ensuring effective navigation of relevant and / or new resources.
  • Schedule and coordinate service delivery in partnership with schools and other agencies.
  • Develop and support consistency with regard to team schedules and service to the community.
  • Foster youth leadership and healthy relationships through coordinated service delivery methods.
  • Develop community partnerships and strengthen referral and collaborative networks through participating in external meetings and events.
  • Manage effective data entry, reporting, evaluation, and program development plans to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Engage in outreach activities to promote agency, program and issue awareness to target audience.
  • Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, youth development, human services or equivalent years of lived or field experience.
  • 2 years of direct service experience related to relationship / community violence and curriculum development.
  • 2 years of group facilitation or case management experience with diverse youth from historically marginalized communities.
  • 2 years of supervision of paid staff and / or volunteers.
  • Experience and knowledge of crisis responses, relationship violence, and research methods.
  • Job Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Ability to engage individuals in activities that encourage violence prevention using an ecological approach.
  • Expertise in delivering curricula and exceptional public speaking abilities.
  • Knowledge of relationship violence, sexual exploitation, addiction, mental health challenges, or other trauma.
  • Deliver a harm-reduction model and uphold housing-first practices.
  • Set and uphold professional boundaries.
  • Foster positive and effective methods to strengthen teamwork and services to stakeholders. Ability to welcome and engage a diverse group of stakeholders through a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license, and insurance, and maintain a good driving record.

    The hiring salary for this position is $65,000 annually.
