We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Technician for 1st Shift at our plant in Lorain, Ohio responsible for the preventive and reactive repair of machinery including but not limited to both horizontal & vertical saws, trolley cranes, Pettibone lifts, and preventative maintenance. The technician's duties also include installation of machinery or the removal of unused machines as well as general facilities maintenance.
Job Duties
· Diagnose problems, dissemble, determine extent of repairs necessary, estimate labor time, requisition or make up repair parts, assemble, test and adjust
· Operate machine tools to perform necessary repairs to equipment
· Determine oiling and greasing schedules and assist in the preparation of other preventive programs
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
· Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
· Documented knowledge and understanding of both single and three phase wiring including but not limited to 24, 120, 240, and 480-volt applications
· Above average knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems with the ability to repair known issues and/or diagnose root cause
· Full understanding of PLC ladder logic, motor controls, limit & proximity switches, solenoids, and HMI screens with above average computer skills education
· Must possess high mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills with an accomplished background using power tools, lathe, mill, welder, grinder and similar equipment
· Must be safety oriented with leadership skills to perform maintenance duties with or without supervision in a team environment
· Equivalent to a complete, accredited apprenticeship or 2-year technical college education or 3-5 years of related experience
· Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in related field of study;
· 5 years’ experience in related areas.
