Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operations.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Form and fabricate parts and components for experimental projects, repairs, and modifications to machines, equipment, and facilities to ensure reliable, consistent operation according to directions and specifications for the approval of supervision.
  • Use graphic, written, or verbal directions and specifications.
  • Use machine tools and hand tools working with a variety of metals and other materials within prescribed tolerances as directed.
  • Perform troubleshooting of all machines and systems (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.), recommend corrective actions, and supervise modifications and repairs upon approval.
  • Use past practices, basic data tables, handbooks, and technical references to determine sizes, capacity, dimensions, and other working data for the approval of supervision.
  • Maintain a working understanding of plant production processes equipment, systems, and facilities in order to perform maintenance effectively, under general direction.
  • Work in cooperation with engineering, technical, and production supervisory, or outside of the company personnel when directed.
  • Get required tools, equipment, and instruments; clean up and store as required.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of Tubular Steel Inc.
  • Keep maintenance workshop area clean and safe and prepare for the next shift. All the time clean the area of previous repairs, checks, and other maintenance work.
  • Abide company Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as instructed by management.

PRACTICAL SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM

  • Good communication skills and punctuality.
  • Use of tape measure, ball micrometer, micrometer, calibers, etc.
  • Knowledge of all equipment (manufacturing and metalworking machinery) and systems operation and safety procedures.

Good analytical and reasoning abilities.

  • Knowledge of using power and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical wiring and installations.
  • Knowledge of materials and their processing.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings.
  • Ability to improve and modify the machinery and parts.
  • Knowledge of related policies and procedures.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

A) Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality:

  • Ensure that all parts and equipment being repaired are handled in such a manner as to prevent their damage or deterioration.
  • Check the quality of repaired rolling stands, gear boxes, welding boxes, and other repaired parts.
  • Ensure the quality of materials used for maintenance is in conformance with required specifications.

B) Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system:

  • As found through daily routine.

C) Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected:

  • Ensure all maintenance work is correct and proper, and that any nonconformity is reported to maintenance engineer and segregated until the problem is resolved.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands–on experience in machinery maintenance in manufacturing environment (Mechanical System/ Pneumatic System/ Hydraulic System)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)
