A Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and managing materials within a warehouse or distribution center. They ensure that materials are handled safely and efficiently to support the production process and meet customer demands. Material Handlers may use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors to move materials around the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Receive and unload incoming materials.
2. Inspect and verify materials against receiving documents.
3. Store materials in designated storage areas.
4. Retrieve materials from inventory and prepare them for production or shipping.
5. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and movements.
6. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
7. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
8. Collaborate with other teams members to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment or orders.
9. Keep work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
3. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
4. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording inventory.
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
7. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
8. Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for material handling.
