Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mill Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating machinery and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure the efficient production of materials.
Duties
- Operate and monitor mill machinery to fabricate materials according to specifications
- Handle materials for processing, fabrication, and packaging
- Abide company Health, Safety and Quality regulations
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to standards Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse
-Perform set-ups to meet tube specifications
- Supervise and participate in changeovers efficiently for proper and timely managed changeover
- Personally check tube quality at the roll-off table
- Train new and /or junior Mill Operators
- When Mill is down, assign and supervise cleaning and other jobs of all crew members
- When any defect is being corrected stop the mill after getting max. 20 mill lengths without completely eliminating the defect
Skills
- Basic knowledge of steel
- Excellent communication skills and punctuality.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently with consideration to fellow employees.
- Analytical skills
- Team leadership skills
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machinery issues
- Use of tape measure, micrometer, calipers, etc.
- Skill in packaging finished products efficiently
