JOB TITLE: Loan Servicing Clerk
REPORTS TO: Loan Servicing Supervisor
SUPERVISES: None
EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supports the loan servicing team by handling a variety of administrative duties. Creates and distributes reports and communications to ensure timely closings and other related loan servicing operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with maintaining escrow accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of payments, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and proper handling of tax and insurance payments.
- Provide backup support for processing skip requests and related documentation.
- Generate, review, and analyze various loan servicing reports, including T&K transfer, over-limit/under-limit credit card, Insuritas, and vehicle lien releases.
- Conduct audits for funded first mortgages, indirect auto loans, and HELOC payment adjustments.
- Support the organization and processing of Deed of Trust (DOT) recording and schedule HE loan closings, including member communication on next steps.
- Coordinate with members and branches for signings and closing documents, manage insurance notices and payoff checks, and handle HMDA data input.
- Assist with organizing and processing incoming mail related to homeowners' insurance, payoff checks, and loan servicing notifications.
- Respond to and manage inquiries through email, chat, and calls, providing accurate information to members and internal teams.
- Abide by state and federal banking regulations. Attend training sessions and complete compliance training on an annual basis. Maintain member and TFCU privacy and confidentiality.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and provide back up to other department roles as requested.
- Gain and retain a high-level knowledge of all TFCU policies and procedures.
- Adhere to TFCU’s attendance and punctuality policy.
- Maintain a professional businesslike appearance in accordance with TFCU’s dress code policy.
- Engage in behavior that aligns with the credit union’s cultural beliefs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
Experience: One (1) year of financial institution experience preferred. Previous experience in loan servicing or a related administrative role preferred.
Qualifications:
- Ability to gain and retain a familiarity of Lending policies and procedures.
- Outstanding time management and multitasking skills. Ability to prioritize workflow and accurately maintain records.
- Skilled in meeting deadlines, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with loan processing requirements while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and researching abilities to service accounts.
- Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with members and member complaints.
Availability: Monday through Friday as scheduled.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit, stand, walk and bend: While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit, stand and walk about inside the Corporate Office.
- Use of hands/fingers: To operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office machinery such as but not limited to; a calculator, copy machine and printer. Additionally, this position is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
- Speech/hearing: This position frequently communicates via phone and in person. Must be able to talk to/hear members and staff.
