Lead Banquet Captain

Seeking a self-starting individual driven to provide the best service experience for our guests! Banquet Captain is responsible for the supervision of Banquets when the Food and Beverage Manager is unavailable. Provide training to new employees, respond to guest requests and promote an atmosphere that ensures pro-active, friendly and efficient services for our Guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to lead a team.
• Provide a warm welcome to all guests at the beginning of each event.
• Ensure all dining materials and function needs are provided above and beyond guest expectations.
• Work with the kitchen to ensure food service is timely, especially during high volume periods.
• Complete side work (i.e., rolling flatware) as assigned and in a timely manner.
• Cost Management - records transactions on guest receipt accurately. Ensures charges and covers are correctly entered into the Point-of-Sale system. Obtains guest signatures on room charges and credit vouchers. Completes accounting closing procedures required by the accounting department.
• Follow proper key control procedures for issued keys.
• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Able to work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and nights as the business dictates
• Good communication skills and comfortable delegating to a team in an inclusive, respectful, and professional manner.
• Able to clearly communicate to employees, guests, vendors, Corporate Executives
• Passionate about service and guest satisfaction
• Eye for detail-- must ensure all plates and drinks are correct and well presented
• Experience and / or Education
• ServeSafe certified
• At least 1-year experience in a full-service restaurant
• At least 1-year experience in a high-volume banquet setting
• Physical Requirements
• Continually reaches, bends, lifts, carries, stoops and wipes during entire shift
• Able to lift 45 pounds Other
