What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Line Cook position at Tucson Hotel Management, LLC?
Cooks prepare food for guests and employees and oversee the cooking areas, food, equipment and supplies.
Cooks must meet (but are not limited to) the following requirements:
- Prepare food for consumption by guests and employees according to Company recipes and standards.
- Store prepared and unprepared food according to the Company's health and safety standards and related laws and regulations.
- Clean kitchen equipment, tools and work areas.
- Set up, restock and remove food for the restaurant buffet, banquet buffets and the bar hours d'oeuvre table.
- Report to management all comments from customers and prospective customers that affect the Company's image or services.
- Keep accurate records of food prepared and issued for service.
- Actively participate in employee meetings.
- Review and adhere to all manuals and other policy updates.
- Respond helpfully to guests’ special requests.
- Complete shift checklists.
- Perform other assignments and tasks as directed by management.
- Language Skills: Able to read drink orders, catered bar orders, drink recipes, delivery documents and delivery documents in English. Able to understand and be understood during English conversations with guests, hotel staff, delivery people and other visitors.
- Equipment Skills: Able to safely and productively use all kitchen equipment and tools.
- Personal Skills and Characteristics: Have a high degree of organization skills and attention to work details. Have initiative, good work habits and flexible. Creative and able to follow instructions.
- Work Experience: Have worked in a kitchen as a line cook.
- Safety and Health Knowledge: Knowledgeable on the Company's safety, security and health policies as they apply to kitchen operations.
- Physical Requirements: Able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds for the purpose of moving, handling and storing food products, kitchen equipment and supplies. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach and squat for using under-counter and overhead equipment and storage. Able to stand for periods of eight hours with breaks. Able to climb and descend stairs and lift and carry 50 pounds upstairs.
