Job Title: Event Setup Assistant
Reports to: Event Production Manager
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week based on cadence of events schedule. Requires a flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.
A primary function of this and every role at the Tucson J is to ensure by whatever rational, ethical, and legal means possible that every member, guest, and visitor leaves the J feeling just a little better than when they arrived.
As an ambassador of the JCC, an Event Setup Assistant represents the JCC to members, guests, clients, and general community by delivering a positive experience and quality interactions leading to client acquisition and retention.
This role will support internal clients (coworkers) with a focus on external clients, vendors, and community partners. This is an event setup position with some building service and janitorial duties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow instructions as to proper setup presentation in a timely manner
- Keep facility looking sharp at all times
- Building, maintaining, and deepening relationships with community and coworkers
- Maintain current inventory of all event/rental specific items
- Stock supply closet areas - keeping tabs on stock pars, notify supervisor if things need reordering
- Exhibit internal and external communication skills
- Ensure the policies and procedures of the organization are maintained
- Other special projects as assigned
Services Expectations & Skills:
- Must be able to fulfill physical duties of the job including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. and transporting heavy objects in team effort
- Ability to work in fast paced, collaborative environment
- Strong work ethic and attention to details while focusing on big picture
- Friendly, clear, concise, timely, and professional communication and collaboration
- Strong decision-making and problem solving skills required with self-starting on general building cleanliness
- Hold to and/or exceed service standards, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Professional appearance and organization of work, storage and event space
- Must have a friendly and outgoing personality paired with being a team player
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience and Certifications:
- Customer service experience (preferred)
- Administrative support experience (preferred)
- Experience in Hospitality Service Industry (preferred)
