Supervisor: Head Tennis Professional Programming Specialist
The Tucson J seeks to hire up to three additional tennis professionals to join the team. Our Sarver Tennis Center is comprised of six Laykold masters hard-courts and three junior tennis/pickleball courts. As a member of the Wellness Department Experience Team, Tennis Instructors should always maintain safety and order as a primary focus and should greets all participants with a warm and welcoming attitude.
Successful candidates will work with several other professionals, reporting directly to the Racquet Sports Program Coordinator.
A primary function of this and every role at the Tucson J is to ensure by whatever rational, ethical, and legal means possible that every individual leaves the J feeling just a little better than when they arrived.
Schedule:
Sunday- Friday, daytime and evening availability. Flexibility to cover vacations and sick call outs is appreciated. Weekly clinic schedule remains consistent. Private lessons schedule and court bookings are the responsibility of the instructor to manage and book.
Essential Job Functions:
- Have a deep knowledge of the intricacies of the game
- Enforce facility rules
- Familiarity with Sports Wellness programming
- Follow the court reservation system to ensure a smooth and even flow of traffic on and off the courts
- Offer instructional services including small group, clinics, privates, semi-private, and team coaching
- Follow the session plans and program structure defined by supervisor
- Attend staff and facility meetings
- Promote the facility, programs and services
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be an experienced player
- Strong team player
- Solid administrative skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong work ethic
- USTA Safe Play Certification
- CPR/AED Certified
- Teaching certification from USTA, USPTA, PTR, and/or ITF (current or within first six months of employment)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 3 years as a tennis professional

Salary : $25 - $35
