Loan Manager
The Tucson Jewish Free Loan (TJFL) is an interest-free, non-sectarian, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering financial assistance to the Tucson community since 1947.
Life can be challenging for all of us no matter our background, education or social status. Hard times often hit with no warning at all. Sometimes people simply need support in achieving a lifelong dream. Our goal is to help people help themselves. Borrowers can feel they have a partner that believes in them and is their champion.
Whether financial assistance is needed to pay medical bills, rent and utilities, school tuition and other life events, The Free Loan can help. We lend a hand to those in need, not a handout.
Loan applicants are treated confidentially with loving kindness. Those who meet our established criteria have an opportunity to receive interest-free financial assistance while maintaining their self-respect and dignity.
As borrowers re-pay their loans, funds are recycled and made available for new loans.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. The Loan Manager will report directly to the Executive Director. Our ideal candidate will be a compassionate and empathetic self-starter, with impeccable time management, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience with organization operations.
Responsibilities:
- Loan Processing
- Review of applications
- Verify financial details statements
- Run evaluate credit reports
- Interview applicants
- Prepare loan origination documents
- Coordination, oversight and management of volunteer loan committee
- Create loan summaries and distribute to committee for review
- Collect and validate responses
- Monitor processes and procedure
- Organize and implement trainings and meeting
- Borrower Relations- Support Management
- Regular communications for relationship trust building
- Collections
- ED Support
- Assist ED with operational functions
- Lead organization in absence of ED
- Administrative Support for all aspects of the organization
- Attend participate in board and committee meetings
- Community Relations
- Serve as lead staff member for Events Committee
- Represent TJFL at stakeholder meetings events
- Showcase the organization at community outreach events opportunities
- Administrative

- Assist in the implementation of new software and systems
- Maintain accuracy of data and clients
- Bookkeeping
- Program management
- Create, run, and present reports:
- Loans
- Borrowers
- Delinquencies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years office assistant employment
- Expert in Customer Service and Relationship Building (with a focus on compassion and empathy to work with individuals in difficult situations.)
- Commitment to confidentiality and integrity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Drive to learn grow
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Schedule Compensation:
- 20-24hrs/week, M-F
- Set schedule to be determined between ED and hired applicant
- $19/hr
