What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Mentor (Effective 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR) position at Tucson Unified District?
SUMMARY
Under supervision, the College Mentor will assist students in achieving academic goals utilizing AVID and Culturally Relevant Practices strategies through individual tutoring and/or tutoring in study groups, assist in the preparation of instructional materials, academic mentoring, and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Currently Enrolled College Student, with a minimum of 30 Credit hours
AND
Minimum 2.5 GPA (Copy of transcripts must be furnished prior to employment)
Verbal & written communication skills in English and Spanish
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior tutoring and/or mentoring experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Location: Mexican American Student Services - Various Sites
FTE: 4 hours per day
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
