What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Specialist (Effective 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR) position at Tucson Unified School District?
SUMMARY
Counsels Tucson Unified School District teachers, administrators and child study teams in behavior modification programs for students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education or related area.
Two years of experience working with culturally diverse students.
Experience designing behavioral modification plans.
Demonstrated experience with children who have been identified as having behavioral difficulties.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a member of a child study team.
Behavior and mental health background.
Case management experience.
Experience with students who have had trauma.
Background working with African American Students and the African American Community.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Location: Holladay Elementary Magnet School - 33rd St. & Park Area
Classification: White Collar
FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
