What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Elementary - Math Interventionist (Effective 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR) position at Tucson Unified School District?
SUMMARY
Contributes to the acceleration of our striving mathematicians. Works extensively with students to help improve specific mathematical skills. Consults frequently with classroom teachers to design and plan interventions. Conducts assessments to identify students eligible for intervention services. Diagnoses math strengths and weaknesses and matches these skills with appropriate techniques and materials to promote interest in learning math concepts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Mathematics Endorsement K-8
Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Math Endorsement K-8
Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
Location: Myers/Ganoung Elementary School - 22nd St & Craycroft area
FTE: 1.0 – 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
