Certified Family Support Specialist
Purpose : Provide assistance to caregivers who are caring for a child diagnosed with a mental health disorder, or a coexisting mental health, developmental and / or substance use disorder by strengthening their role as parents through the provision of teaching and support services, and reducing the likelihood that the family and member will become isolated, disempowered, or disengaged.
Qualifications :
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have at least one year of lived experience as a parent or an adult caregiver raising a child or has raised a child who has raised a child who lives with a behavioral health diagnosis (mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder) and has successfully navigated the systems of care in the State of Idaho.
- Completed Certified Family Support Training
- Complete 20 hours of Supervision upon receipt of Certificate
- Current Enhanced Background Check
