Based in the Southeast market area, Tuff Shed is recruiting for a Regional Sales Director for The Home Depot sales channel (RSD-THD) throughout our Southeast Region. Expected travel for this role is 65%. Reporting to the VP, Wholesale Sales, and the RVP Southeast, the RSD-THD will be a key member of the regional management team and will be responsible for building and growing sales across several states including:

The Regional Sales Director – The Home Depot (RSD-THD) is responsible for directing and motivating Tuff Shed, Area Sales & Design Specialists (ASDSs) & Selling Center Design Specialists (SCDSs) to ensure that sales, customer satisfaction and profitability objectives of both Tuff Shed and The Home Depot are consistently achieved as planned. The RSD-THD recruits, develops, and mentors the ASDSs & SCDSs, ensuring the Tuff Shed perspective is provided in all brand initiatives and strategic plans, works closely with the VP-THD Sales to ensure the ASDSs & SCDSs are working tactically to achieve the regional goals and directives to effectively service The Home Depot wholesale account.

Achieves regional targets in the area of sales, customer loyalty, customer satisfaction and profitability
Participates in the definition and development of Tuff Shed sales objectives with regard to the region
Designs, develops, and implements action plans with ASDSs/SCDSs to consistently achieve Tuff Shed goals and objectives in the area of sales, customer loyalty, customer satisfaction and profitability
Conducts bi-annual Business Reviews in line with Tuff Shed sales initiatives and goals; ensures that all required data and documentation are prepared and submitted, as required.
Monitors and evaluates sales trends and general market conditions to ensure achievement of the regional sales business plan
Recruits and hires quality ASDSs/SCDSs with the assistance of the General Manager
Trains the ASDSs/SCDSs on all aspects of their job including sales training, best practices, TS 101 classes, call book, display maintenance, relationship building, and all components of the SOP manual for doing business with the THD
Evaluates, coaches, motivates and directs the ASDSs/SCDSs; champions the performance management process, growth, and development plans, including training initiatives, career path planning, etc.
Implements and monitors product merchandising/display best practices within the region
Ensures all new product categories are rolled out in accordance with Company standards
Ensures THD stores are properly displayed and staffed to Company standards, including new store openings and Selling Centers
Attends regular meetings with the DMs, GMs and ASDSs/SCDSs to discuss sales, marketing, operating procedures, Company direction, etc.
Performs market walks with each ASDS/SCDS no less than four times a year, to ensure compliance and understanding of the company guidelines pertaining to THD (some markets may require more frequent visits based on size)
Prepares market walk summaries to ensure all parties understand any issues and the follow-up that might be needed and, when necessary, develops and implements market strategies to correct these issues
Submits market walk summaries to the VP-THD Sales and the Regional Director to ensure action is taken on all issues
Ensures the ASDSs/SCDSs initiate actions that remedy out of line product and display conditions and proactively takes control based upon competitive market forces
Acts as Tuff Shed’s principal contact with THD’s Services Directors and Market Services Managers
Ensures accurate and complete sales forecasting
Communicates with THD Services Directors and Market Services Managers to discuss sales and areas of opportunity, training, display issues, promotions, Selling Centers, and any other pertinent business needs
Responds to all calls/queries from THD and takes immediate action to resolve any issues
Performing all other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Tuff Shed management
In order to perform the above functions, the RSD-THD must be present at Tuff Shed Stores and Home Depot Store and Selling Centers, as scheduled, (including some weekends) and work all required hours
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Significant leadership and relationship building skills
Skilled at identifying underlying problems by assessing customer needs and making appropriate recommendations for a reasonable solution
Proven experience in business-to-business and business-to-consumer sales management
Experience building and training successful teams (both in-person and virtually)
Skilled at negotiating high dollar, long duration agreements with clients and using appropriate closings in the sales processes
Sales management experience, at a District level preferred, including managing and resolving employee relations issues; “Big Box” Home Improvement company experience highly preferred
Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment
Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports that create a professional image for Tuff Shed
Hands-on computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet applications required; experience in utilizing Customer Relations Management (CRM) software – including Oracle, JDE, Onyx, Salesforce.com, Goldmine or similar systems is highly preferred
Ability to travel throughout the Southeast region, approximately 65% travel
Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
