DEPARTMENT: Tulalip Police
JOB SUMMARY: The Lateral Dispatcher will provide dispatch services to the Tulalip Community. Ensure that calls for service received by the Tulalip Police Department are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. Their main duties include answering and responding to any emergency or non-emergency calls and provide assistance or important information. Will log each call, dispatching field units on routes, prioritize and organize calls for service. Utilizes confidential police computer systems to access and read warrants, court documents, and police files for officers. Files reports, gathers data, and operates two-way radio communication, phones, and cellular devices.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year of computer experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
- One (1) year of experience working in an office environment, operating multi-line telephones and office equipment.
- Six (6) months of experience working in Police/Emergency Dispatch.
SKILLS TESTING
- Typing- 35 WPM
- Multi-tasking
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- CPR/First Aide Certificate *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.
- ACCESS Level Two Certification *Will allow six (6) months to obtain.
- Must not be convicted of a felony or any violent crime.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
- Must pass a Tulalip Police Department background investigation that includes but is not limited to; completing a Personal History Packet, credit check, and passing a polygraph.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
