Effective infectious disease study and management requires the development and application of mathematical and statistical tools to gain insight into the fundamental properties driving the spread of diseases through populations. The Department of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease is seeking to hire a new faculty member in the tenure track at an assistant or associate professor level. The faculty member in this position is expected to develop independent research interests in producing risk models of infectious disease in the US and abroad.
In addition to members of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease, he or she will interact with other members of Tulane University including in the Department of Biostatistics and Mathematics to function as a modeling core for the University. This faculty member will also develop a course in statistical modeling in infectious disease for master's or Ph.D. students. A particular focus will be on but not limited to vector-borne diseases.
