What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician position at Tulane University Staff?
Licensed electrician capable of doing both construction and maintenance electrical work. Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and fixtures.
This is an Essential Personnel position, which can require that the incumbent must report for duty and work through emergencies, and also can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work, or for the completion of a critical task.
- Must be capable of receiving oral, written and diagrammed instructions regarding plumbing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance based on current codes.
- Able to handle multiple projects
- Ability to utilize TMA Facilities maintenance software on portable devices (e.g. iPod)
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays
- Ability to be on call
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years' experience in electrical trade
- Must hold a Journeyman's electrical license
- Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver's license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle policy criteria to become authorized as a driver
