What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Research Administrator, Post-Award position at Tulane University Staff?
The Senior Research Administrator, Post-Award, manages, leads, and supervises all staff performing post-award compliance activities for their team's sponsored projects research portfolio.
In addition to managing the post-award compliance team, they are responsible for executing post-award administration and compliance duties in support of their own assigned portfolio of grants and contracts for one or more units (i.e., school / s, department / s, division / s, institute / s, and / or center / s) using knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills. Post-award administration duties include writing and issuing agreements to third parties, reviewing and approving / obtaining sponsor approval for post-award changes on sponsored projects, issuing work orders to hospitals under clinical trials, and monitoring compliance with closeout requirements. Ensure adherence to quality standards and all policies and award regulations.
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and / or contract lifecycles, with specific deep understanding of the proposal and award processes for multiple sponsors
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to grant and contracts activity
- Knowledge of the various stages of the grant lifecycle including proposal review and submission, award review and negotiation.
- Knowledge of University processes, systems and offices related to and / or involved in grant and contract submission, proposal management, and award set-up.
