Licensed Mental Health Consultant, TIKESLocation : New Orleans, LASummaryA full time Licensed Mental Health Consultant will provide early childhood mental health consultation services to children under the age of 6 years enrolled in early learning centers and family child care homes in Southern Louisiana and their childcare caregivers and families. LMHC should be able to clinically conceptualize a wide variety of cases involving young children and their caregivers with challenging behaviors, attachment and / or relationship problems, developmental delays, and / or other mental health issues and make appropriate referrals. LMHC will also provide consultation and training to multidisciplinary professionals. Visits to child care providers will primarily be made in person with occasional meetings occurring remotely through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Training and supervision will be provided throughout the year.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to form relationships with a variety of professionals, individuals, and groups.Interdisciplinary consultation and collaboration skills.Individual and group therapy skills.Completion of specialized training in infant mental health or capability to complete training in infant mental health.Experience in a clinical setting working with children and adults (e.g., mental health clinic, practicum placement, etc.).Ability to provide training to other professionals, students, and pre-licensure mental health consultants.Must have the necessary physical skills to complete consultations and required documentation.Competent communication and writing skills.Flexibility and ability to organize and manage time independently.Required Education and / or ExperienceCurrent Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.Two years clinical experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Working knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices in child care.Experience with consultation to parents, educators, and child welfare staff.Compensation InformationThis position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
