The Medical Research Specialist for this dynamic systems biology research laboratory will perform a variety of diagnostic and quantitative assays, with a primary focus on understanding the microbiome and its interactions with the immune system. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to perform meticulous laboratory work with careful attention to detail, and in strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient use of basic laboratory research equipment.
- Strong analytical skills, preferably with experience in JMP, R, or Python for data analysis.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in document preparation using programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- The candidate should also be able to maintain the laboratory website in collaboration with IT personnel.
- Experience with biological data processing and analysis.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a biological or computational science
- 3 years research experience in microbiology/immunology, molecular biology and/or related disciplines.
- Experience with BSL2 bio-containment principles and protocols, both for animal and laboratory space.
- Ability to multi-task and successfully meet established deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, preferably with experience in JMP, R, or Python for data analysis.
- Familiarity with reference management tools (e.g. Zotero, EndNote).
