Two years of professional experience (and relevant community development or activist experience) in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance.
- Knowledge of specific public health related topics including access to care, chronic disease, the social determinants of health (SDoH), mental health & substance use.
- Competent in the use of technology, including Microsoft applications and facilitation of virtual meetings.
- Ability to read and interpret written materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Ability to effectively speak publicly.
- A bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience (and relevant community development, or activist experience).
- Facilitate monthly regional committee meetings and co-facilitate quarterly statewide meetings wherein all regional committees have representation.
- Recruit new community partners to attend committee meetings.
- Regularly liaise with state health centers to promote PA SHIP progression and connect Regional Health Equity Action Team (RHEAT) partners.
- Provide a forum for training and resources to increase capacity within their specific public health area to prevent or mitigate public health threats.
- Act as a regional liaison bringing various organizations together to replicate best practices, increase collaboration, and share resources.
- Assist counties where no local health department is located to better understand communities needs and assets so that targeted interventions can be developed and implemented.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and align efforts with local health departments.
- Disseminate key SHIP data and metrics as available. Help implement SHIP strategies and advance SHIP goals.
- Provide insight through lived experiences in relation to RHEAT committee topic selection.
- Pursue informative/educational learning opportunities to expand subject matter expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
