Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
- A BA degree (transcripts required).
- TB Clearance.
- Hold a valid automobile operator’s license.
- Proof of current automobile insurance is required if using a personal vehicle for job duties or any TASSEL business.
- Fingerprinting required. Fingerprints must clear DOJ & FBI Live Scan.
Synopsis of Position
This position works directly under the supervision of the Superintendent or designee. Duties require independent action based on knowledge of proper program procedures and funding guidelines. The person in this position will assist the Director with implementation of program requirements, continuous quality improvement, data analysis, supervision, staff scheduling, budget development, and reporting procedures.
Essential Performance Responsibilities.
- Ability to perform a variety of complex program coordinator duties.
- Ability to build and maintain a professional, working relationship with coworkers, administration, teachers, parents, and the public.
- Interact and communicate effectively and properly with districts, county offices, state or public officials, staff members and parents to exchange and/or gather information.
- Read, understand, interpret, apply, and adhere to complex laws, policies, and regulations as they relate to the Expanded Learning Program and Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District.
- Assist in the development and implementation of program vision and plans.
- Collect and analyze program data. Collaborate and develop a plan for continuous improvement.
- Be well organized and proficient with compiling, arranging, and presenting information in written and oral form to advise and assist with management decision making.
- Monitor and manage a budget for the TASSEL.
- Facilitate various meetings when appointed by the superintendent or designee.
- Assist with ongoing training.
- Guide, influence, lead, and motivate employees to perform their duties.
- Collaborate with the Professional Learning Team on understanding and implementing the academic curricula and California standards.
- Demonstrate and model support to front line staff in the development of academia, classroom management, enrichment and recreational activities.
- Demonstrate computer literacy in performing responsibilities in an efficient and professional manner.
- Responsible for overseeing and helping organize special events.
- Coordinate with teachers regarding educational pacing guides.
- Provide transportation for students in district vehicles.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
Additional work situations are broadly defined and strategic in nature, which often require working with various organizations, management, and staff at all levels and require respect and finesse in resolving highly personal and technical concerns where one must consider trade-offs, risks, and the status of others. May be required to attend trainings outside of normal workday: locally or out of town.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The employee will supervise site coordinators, project leaders, Instructional Aides, student assistants, and student aides.
Work Environment
Work is generally conducted in, around and outside of a school environment but may require the site coordinator to conduct business elsewhere by attending off-hour meetings, conferences, etc. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

Physical/Mental Requirements
Physical flexibility, mental acumen, and emotional stamina are fundamental building blocks for the Program Coordinator. The job requires the following skills in a consistent manner:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to write, use phone/keyboard/business machines, etc.
- Visual acuity to read and understand a variety of printed materials with different fonts and to be able to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Hearing acuity sufficient to hear and understand in person and via telephone conversations.
- Speaking ability to communicate in an understandable, pleasing voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distance, on the phone, and addressing various group sizes.
- Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, and reach overhead; physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment repeatedly within the office, out of the office, in the community, and outside the community, operate an automobile, and respond to emergency situations.
- Physical strength sufficient to lift 25 pounds.
- Mathematical skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry when required/needed.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make valid judgments and decisions.
- Emotional strength and stability to maintain composure and etiquette during disturbing situations and be able to function consistently well and properly under stressful encounters.
Terms of Employment
Fiscal Year: July 1st – June 30: Contracted work days 230 days
Evaluation Procedure
Performance evaluation will be completed annually by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with the provisions of the Superintendent’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.45 - $41.56 per hour
