MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain service to each meter, service water meters, repair water line leaks, fix meter leaks.
- Replace any dysfunctional meters or make necessary repairs
- Shall conduct necessary line locates and flag lines as requested by other companies.
- Shall carry out and/or direct needed repairs and/or service.
- Shall remove or lock meters as directed by the billing clerk for non-payment of water bills, or if request is made to the billing clerk by the owner to have meter locked.
- Shall inspect and check water lines as called upon.
- Shall maintain an inventory list of all items used and items purchased by Distribution Operator. All inventory shall be kept at the Rural Water District #14 yard.
- Shall give a monthly report to the Board of Directors of Tulsa County Water District #14. Included in the report shall be a written report of inventory, where items were used, number of items purchased and from whom and where purchased.
- Monthly and yearly water samples completed and turned in to DEQ.
- Maintain work truck and keep up with maintenance on work truck.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid state driver’s license Valid Water Operators License Class or higher, as required by the state regulatory agency.

- Tools, equipment, materials used in area of specialization.
- Occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.

OTHER ABILITIES
- Analytical skills necessary to evaluate delivery of services critically, respond to deficiencies by identifying and implementing appropriate corrective actions, develop and administer sound policies, procedures and budgets, and oversee the work of others.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 60% of work time when preparing and reading reports, preparing budgets, or investigating citizen complaints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works primarily on the Distribution Water Lines (approximately 90% to 95% of the time) exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.
- On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies.
DRESS CODE
- During working hours, you are expected to be identifiable. Uniformed shirts and jeans will be provided. They are expected to be worn at all times. Failure to comply will result in being sent home without pay until the issue is resolved. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and is expected to be worn at all times when applicable. PPE includes but is not limited to: Safety glasses, Utility gloves, Reflective vests, Steel-toed boots, Hip waders and any other safety gear as instructed by the Supervisor or Board of Directors.
