What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time - Mascot Coordinator position at Tulsa Drillers?
The Tulsa Drillers are the Double A Affiliate of the 2024 World Series Champions - the Los Angeles Dodgers and play in a state of the art downtown stadium, ONEOK Field. In 2024, the Drillers drew 300,000 fans for the 14th straight season. The Drillers were named the Texas League Organization of the year in 2013, 2014, 2017 & 2020 while also being named the Bob Freitas Double A Organization of the Year in 2013 & 2019. The team on the field has won four Texas League Championships in franchise history with the most recent title in 2018.
The 2025 season will be Hornsby's (the teams mascot) 29th season starting in 1993. Since performing at ONEOK Field, the Tulsa Drillers team mascot program has been full time with six of its last seven performers making the jump from Tulsa to the Major League Levels (NHL, NBA, MLS, MLB). Hornsby's Running with the Bulls feature was highlighted during the 2024 Futures All-Star Game as well as recognized as GameOps' 2024 Best Contest or On-Field Promotion. The Mascot Hall of Fame also recognized Hornsby's Bully Busters School Assembly as the Minor Leagues' Greatest Community Impact in 2023.

Hornsby's newest best friend needs to be a creative, energetic, fan-focused individual. The performer should possess professional knowledge and interpersonal skills (especially with children). A qualified performer should be skilled in physical performance as well as dance and spontaneous crowd-interaction. All qualified applicants will be required to participate in an “invitation only” audition to be held by the Drillers on TBD Date.

Qualifications
- High School or Diploma equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (recommended)
- Choreography, Prop Building, Skit Writing experience
- Must be physically fit
- Must be able to work the majority, if not all, of the Drillers 69 home games
- Must have a reliable means of Transportation
- Social Media Management Experience (not required, but preferred)
- Basic Graphic Design Experience (not required, but preferred)
- Must be available for audition on TBD Date
Expected Duties
- Perform at all Tulsa Drillers home games as well as outside appearances
- Including but not limited to School programs, Valentine’s Day deliveries, Sponsor visits & more
- Maintain and care for Costume(s), Props and Accessories
- Develop, create, and execute new skits
- Spontaneous Crowd interaction during games
- Develop and Manage a support staff for Hornsby such as Secondary Characters (Oily the Oiler and Inflat-a-BULL) and handler(s).
- Manage and Create Content for Hornsby's Social Media account(s).
- Coordinate in-game activities, including skits, sponsor events, and requested pieces
- Manage Mascot Schedule for Appearances
- Work in excessive heat under stressful conditions
Starting Compensation
Approximately $35,000 to $40,000, based on experience
