Description
Under the direction of the Tulsa Healthy Start Community Consortium Coordinator, this part-time, opportunity of 20 hours per month, will work with the Consortium Coordinator and other Healthy Start staff members. The goal of this position is to create and maintain a group of community members who will work together to identify issues and concerns that may lead to poor health outcomes.
Examples of Duties
PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following functions represent the majority of the duties performed by the position but are not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (100% of Time) :
1. Assist the Coordinator in gathering and building a community meeting to include Healthy Start participants or individuals living in North Tulsa (representing 25% of the membership). The remainder of the membership will be various MCH professionals and organizations working to address SDOH challenges and other community leaders.
2. Assist the Coordinator in using the needs assessment to develop an Action Plan to address SDOH impacting the MCH population and prioritize by North Tulsa residents.
3. Participate in the weekly, Tulsa Healthy Start Executive Management Team addressing systemic issues that are the focus of the Consortium.
4. Identify and participate in community consortiums / coalitions addressing issues of MCH interest and coordinate with other Consortium Coordinators.
5. Attend local, regional, and statewide meetings and trainings as required.
6. Participate in the HS Community Consortium Community of Practice and other technical assistance opportunities.
7. Maintain complete, accurate, and current records and submit all required reports in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Complete training in support of the duties and responsibilities of this position.
9. Other duties as assigned including those required to fulfill activities in support of public health emergency operations.
Typical Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFICATIONS :
Education : High School Diploma or GED.
Experience : Is currently or has been a Healthy Start Participant and has personal experience in the North Tulsa community (for example, currently or formally lived, attended school, or currently has family living in North Tulsa), required.
Knowledge & Skills :
- Ability to assess and maintain cultural competency in all aspects of one's work, treating all persons with courtesy and respect.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Conditions include those found working in an office environment. Additionally, various settings to include housing communities to conduct interviews, attend offsite community meetings in public areas. At times, exposure to a noisy, crowded work environment, community neighborhoods and occasional interaction with clients.

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt.
