Job Duties:
- Perform NDE (UT, MT, UTSW, PAUT) inspections as required by customer in accordance with customer / TIRNDE written procedures.
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
- Document all inspections on the appropriate NDE reports and review prior to submitting to TIR QA.
- Compare results with available ILI data and report findings.
- Organize and report test results
- Maintain close working relationship with construction crews and field personnel.
- Perform pipe to soil readings, soil resistivity, MIC test, coating inspections as required by customer.
- Provide training oversight for level I technicians.
- Maintain continual communication with client representative (chief inspector, site inspector, integrity engineers)
- Ensure all activities are performed in a safe and professional manner. Adhere to and enforce TIR safety policies.
- Perform other job duties and related tasks as assigned by management.
- Travel requirement: 80%
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be certifiable to ASNT-TC-1A Level II requirements for education and experience in MT, UT, UTSW, PAUT.
- ISQ Qualified
- Minimum 2 years Pipeline Integrity experience, 5 years of experience recommended.
- Ability to provide personal 4x4 vehicle.
- Working knowledge of pipeline welding and nondestructive testing procedures and specifications, including API 1104.
- Working knowledge of station, facility and plant nondestructive testing procedures and specifications as applicable under ASME Section IX Welding codes.
- Decision making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work confidently with multiple computer software programs. (Excel, Office)
- Ability to recognize and report safety hazards

Working Conditions:
Internal – Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment (45%).
External – Work is normally performed in a field environment with exposure to various weather conditions (55%).
Physical Demands:
Work involves standing, walking, and bending. Work normally requires reaching in all directions, seeing, and hearing with or without correction, applying basic mathematical skills, writing, and moderate computer keyboard skills. Work may require extended hours to ensure project and reporting deadlines are met. Does not require manual work.
